Quick Mix Pumpkin Spice Bars

Quick Mix Pumpkin Spice BarsQuick Mix Pumpkin Spice Bars are one of those yummy treats you can make from a mix. It is true and so tasty. One of my favorite baking mixes is the Krusteaz brand. They taste like they are home-made but… can be made in less than an hour. Pretty good when you are crunched for time.

From time to time I receive coupons from Krusteaz and always love to try out what they have to offer.  Quick Mix Pumpkin Spice Bars was one that my family really loved.  Brownie-like it goes from the lunchbox to the dessert table with an easy transition.

This recipe was made from following the directions according to the box.  I did add some pieces of Skor Candy Bar on top with a generous drizzle of caramel sauce.  Whipped cream to the side gives you something to drag the dessert into with your fork.

This is what the box looks like when you head to the grocery store to get your own.

Best news is the mix costs less than $3.00 each and makes a giant baking pan full.  Cheaper than buying a can of pumpkin these days. Compare to canned pumpkin at $4.29 which I saw at a neighborhood grocery store for the 29 oz sized can. Somethings just make sense to buy in a quick mix when you are on a budget.

I love the ginger snap cookie crust. Ginger and Pumpkin are some of the greatest flavor combinations.  I would suggest to bake it a few minutes less than the box directions specified so it is not over-baked.  If it is over-baked the top forms a crust that you may or not really like. My family prefers it softer.

Quick Mix Pumpkin Spice Bars are a delicious dessert that will please everyone! Especially those who want good tasting sweet treats while on a budget.
