Easy Halloween Treats Microwave Smores

Easy Halloween Treats for those last minute guests is a snap. Use  my favorite tool the microwave to create easy Smor’es and Caramel Popcorn.

My family always says don’t bother with any thing fancy

we are good is what they say out of their mouths. Please make us something sweet and yummy is what they are saying in their minds and what they are expecting.  I feel like I have created Frankenstein himself. Sometimes the non verbal expectations can be very spooky.

So for those last minute treats this is all you need to make it work.

1- Microwave Oven is a must….

2- Fudge striped cookies, marshmallows

3- Popped Popcorn, brown sugar and butter

Now that you have all the ingredients just assemble like this.

Fudge Striped Cookie Smore’s

1 package of Fudge Striped Cookies

12 marshmallows ( if you can get the flavored ones, Caramel or Pumpkin is really yummy!)

Place on a microwave safe plate, cookie and 1 marshmallow, top with another cookie. Microwave for 10 seconds. Press the cookies together. Instant Smore’s

Caramel Popcorn

4 cups freshly popped popcorn

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

20 marshmallows

Favorite Candy pieces, chocolate or nuts

Place sugar, butter in a large microwave safe dish and cook on high for 1 minute until butter is melted. Add brown sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved in the hot butter. Add marshmallows and return the microwave. Cook for 1 minute on high. Stir to combine and finish melting the marshmallows.  Add your favorite candies, chocolate chips or chopped nuts.

If you are really having a hard time getting motivated you can pop your own popcorn old school style in the microwave too.

Place 1/4 cup popping corn  in a paper bag. Fold down the top a couple of times.  Place in the microwave oven fold side up.  Cook on high for 2.5 minutes until all the kernals pop.  It’s an amazing low fat version of microwave popcorn.

Try all of my Easy Halloween Treats. You will have all the yum without the fuss!
