Door Decor Challenge

Door Decor Challenge  is one of my first duties as the new Jordan Valley Home & Garden Club President.  I feel privileged to represent the club.

The Door Decor Challenge  is sponsored by The Vintage Bee Paint Co. and George’s Architectural Salvage. It is being presented at the Deseret News Fall Home Show to be held Oct 10-12, 2014.  The true purpose of this contest is to show you some affordable possibilities of what can be done so you can be inspired to go and do it for yourself . Copy Cats are totally welcome.

Cynthia Bee with the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District located in West Jordan helped me create this fantastic wreath for the contest.  She led the group of bloggers on the door finding field trip to George’s.  I am so bummed that I missed out. George’s place if full of everything cool.  Yes, I have been there before so I knew what I had missed.  You got to check it out!

Each of the  12 Utah  bloggers selected to decorate the door picked a month to theme their door around.  I picked a door that was a solid surface. Not very exciting but… I had a really cool plan.

Trending colors for doors are all over the place with yellows, greens, corals, turquoise and gray.  After all the front door is the first thing that people see when they enter your home. It makes a statement about you, your personality, and your design style.  Define yourself and your family by decorating the door and the porch of your home.

As a garden club we had to figure out a way to make the door LIVE.  A living door with plants, moss and the most amazing clean lines.  It may just be the next magazine cover.  I am not going to give it away our little living secret… as to what it ended up looking like.  You will need to come by and see what we did.

I hope that you like my door  and the Jordan Valley Home & Garden Club’s door the best.   No pressure but I am offering a couple of free entry tickets on my Facebook page. Sorry this is only for those of you who live in the Utah area and are able to come to SLC for the Home Show.  Please come and vote for your favorite door. Pick me, Pick me! It is going to be awesome!
